How to get there

Train

The Antwerpen Centraal train station lies within walking distance (approximately 15 minutes) from the City Campus (Hof van Liere). The international express train Thalys (from Paris and Amsterdam) also stops at this station. Timetables and online ticket sale can be found here.

Plane

Brussels National Airport is about 45 km away from Antwerp. There is an hourly Brussels Airlines coach service (from 5.30 am to 23.00 pm) between Brussels National Airport and Antwerp (city center). The bus station at the airport is located one floor down from the arrivals hall. Prices (~ €10) and schedules can be found here. There are also frequent train services from the airport (basement level -1) to Brussels. At the Brussel Noord train station you have to change to a train that goes to Antwerpen Centraal (see timetables).

Antwerp Airport is located at about 5 km from the city center. It has regular service to a number of UK cities. There is a bus to the city center (No. 14) that runs approximately every 15 minutes.

Bus

Eurolines buses stop in the Van Stralenstraat (see map), just in front of the Eurolines agency.

Car

The city of Antwerp lies at the intersection of the E17, E19, E34 and E313 motorways. Information on the main access roads can be found here. You might also want to have a look at this map.

Places to stay

The map below lists a selection of hotels within walking distance (15 minutes or less) of the workshop venue. Click the placemarks for contact details. The number of euro signs gives an indication of the price category. For more options, including a number of budget hotels and hostels that are located further away from the city campus, see the Antwerp tourist information website.

Antwerp also offers a number of charming bed & breakfasts with reasonable room rates. Look here for the options. Be sure, however, to check the distance from the city campus.
